It wasn’t just the Democrats who had a good night on November 4th, potheads also scored victory after tasty victory from Massachusetts to Michigan.
Various pro-marijuana initiatives passed in 9 locations allowing medical patients to legally enjoy the benefits of medicinal drug, the decriminalized possession of one ounce or less by an adult or making marijuana possession a low priority for law enforcement.
The initiatives passed with overwhelming majorities, what the television and political pundits would call a mandate. So as my Drill Instructor in the Army used to say, “smoke em if you got em” and enjoy this victory for personal liberty.

Media outlets and neo-liberal/progressive bloggers have been crowing about the ‘news’ that Rahm Emanuel Congressman from Illinois and old friend and image maker for Barack Obama was offered the coveted Chief of Staff position in the new Obama White House.
Anyone following the orchestrated rise of Barack Obama from obscurity to the highest office of the land knows Rahm Emanuel has been the conductor all along. Emanuel not only has deep political roots in in the Chicago political scene but has been refered to as the “bag man” for the moneyed elite of Israel. For decades Rahm has groomed and promoted choosen candidates to fill key political positions in order to benefit the worlds wealthy elitist.
As Chief of Staff Mr. Emanuel will be able to put forth the agenda of the corporatist filling a role similarly held by Dick Cheney in the Bush White House. Among the top priorities for Rahm will be the so called Fairness Doctrine which will severely limit free speech, anti-gun laws and promoting a one world economic system based on a single global currency.
The mass media is playing along with the charade claiming Rep. Emanuel has aspirations of becoming Speaker of the House therefore may turn down Obama’s offer. But Rahm has spent years prepairing Barack for his role as president and has been by his side nearly everyday for that last two years. It was decided long ago Rahm Emanuel would be Chief of Staff.
The recent historic victory of Barack Obama has been meet with euphoria as many people believe they are jettisoning the fascist regime of George W. Bush.
In the excitement that the Patriot Act many be repealed and the wars may end Barack Obama is being called: The One, Leader of the World and the Messiah.
But how long will the honeymoon last? Obama has already backed out on his promise not to wire tap Americans without a warrant and leaving Iraq in the foreseeable future. How long will it take before his devotees realize Barack Obama will continue and expand the policies of the George W. Bush presidency?
Time will tell, but for now the celebration continues.
Ralph Nader says what is on the minds of many but do not have the guts to bring up on flickervision. Will Barack Obama be a uniter who heals the nation, or will he be a sell out to the corporations who control Washington D. C.
“To put it very simply, he is our first African American president; or he will be. And we wish him well. But his choice, basically, is whether he’s going to be Uncle Sam for the people of this country, or Uncle Tom for the giant corporations.”
‘B’ actor Shepard Smith representative of one of the largest media corporations in the world, News Corp and appropriately host of Studio ‘B’ tries to attack Nader as a racist for questioning if Barack will represent the people or global mega corporations.
Shepard’s attempt to use of the communist tactic of collectivism backfires when Nader slams him for ignoring the destruction to the poor and working class caused by corporations aligned with the state.
“He can be a great president or become a toady for the corporate powers that have brought both parties to their knees against working people in this country. And have allowed this country to be hijacked by global corporation who have no allegiance to this country. Other than to ship it’s jobs and industry to fascist and communist dictators abroad who know how to keep their workers in their place. This is reality.This is not show business This is not celebrity politics there are people suffering in this country and we expect a great presidency from Barack Obama and we are going to hold his feet to the fire.”

As many Americans celebrate the historic victory of Barack Obama this evening most will be completely unaware of the central figures in his administration who will direct and implement major policies and legislation changing the lives of every citizen. While the average voter may not give a moments thought to who the members of an Obama administration will be the Obama team has already selected candidates to fill those positions.
According to a well placed Democratic aid Barack Obama personally selected Rahm Emanuel to be his Chief of Staff.
A key figure from Obama’s hometown of Chicago will be Congressman Rahm Emanuel (D-IL) fourth ranking Democrat in the House. Rahm Emanuel joined the Clinton’s in 1991 directing the campaign’s finances. Following the campaign Rahm became a senior adviser to Bill Clinton and severed in the Clinton administration holding various titles. Rahm was one of the original architects of NAFTA and aggressive anti- gun laws passed by the Clinton administration.
Mr. Emanuel began his career with the consumer rights organization Illinois Public Action. In 1989 he served as a senior adviser and chief fundraiser for Richard M. Daley.
Rahm and Barack have a deep history together is Chicago politics. Emanuel has been instrumental is the rise of Barack Obama from neophyte Senator to the next president of the United States. Getting virtually no media attention Rahm Emanual has been by Obama side during most of the last two years on the campaign trail.
Emanuel belongs to an orthodox Jewish congregation in Chicago and worked as a volunteer in Israel during the first Gulf War. His father Jerusalem born Benjamin M. Emanuel was a member of the Irgun, a Zionist Militant organization in the 1940s. The Irgun bombed the King David Hotel occupied by the British and housing the British authorities of Palestine on July 22, 1946. The group planted a bomb in the basement of the hotel. The ensuing bomb blast killed 91 and injured another 46.
