Obtain millions of subprime mortgages for illegal aliens with no documentation, little documentation or fraudulentation with stolen security numbers ruining numerous Americans from identity theft. Both parties are complicity in this especially Chris Dodd and Barney Frank who ignored warnings from Paul Volker and his successor Alan Greenspan who said that Fannie and Freddie must be regulated or they will become corrupt and destroy the economy. 1. To vote out every single incumbent Congressman and Senator who is up for reelection on November 4th. Congress has been so irresponsible for the past 40 years, and it is their fault that we are in the mess we’re in today. And yet, year after year, it is we the people who continue to re-elect the incumbents. In fact, Congressional incumbents have a re-election rate of 97%! In fact, it is not the Congress that is at fault, it is we the people who have been irresponsible. We can, and must, take the country back - peacefully and non-violently - with our votes.
Our goal is to take back our government. The tactic is to vote out all incumbents - to overturn the entire Congress and the third of the Senate that is up for reelection. And if we don’t get responsive government from the new guys, then to do it again in 2010. And again in 2012. And again and again until they get the message that we’re watching them, and we’re serious.
2. To educate American citizens about the Democrat / Republican duopoly that offers voters no choice. We want to empower citizens, especially the apathetic and non-voters, to change the system with their votes. We want to see a record turnout for third party candidates in 2008, and see a change in the political structure such that third party candidates are included in the remaining debates.

The problem is our representitives or all spinless.They keep talking about how we the taxpayer is going to come out of this ahead when the house values go up.How are they going to go up that much when they were way overpriced then. They need to go even lower in order for the average person to be able to afford one.
They keep our wages stagnet,companys know they can go over seas or hire illeagels.They say med income is around 95,000/year.Personally I dont know any one making that.That means you would have to make 45.00/hr before benifits. How many people do you know that make that. If you do its a combination of the husband and wife and if they have children they could become turn key kids.

For a looong time she has been one of the very few to consistently speak out and vote against the banksters.
Well…the chickens have come home to roost. What passes for political leadership has, once again, failed miserably at protecting our children’s future. They have become self-absorbed cartoon characters, growing fat and wealthy by propagating the legalized bribery system known as lobbying. Their family members, friends and cronies have profited mightily from looting the Treasury at the expense of future generations of Americans.
The co-opted media has enabled them through promoting a false left/right divide to keep the American people fighting each other by rolling out wedge issues every couple of years, all the while remaining quiet about the shredding of our Constitution and the elimination of our Constitutional rights….”Free Speech Zones” indeed. They tell lies and half truths to keep us fearful and distracted, allowing Party power brokers to implement their unpublicized agenda conceived in DC backrooms.
It is past time to send these political clowns a strong message. Throw them all out with the trash and start the process of electing new Congressman who are not bought and paid for or being blackmailed and controlled for some sexual or financial indiscretion. We need fresh faces that have not been corrupted by years of feeding at the public trough.

Having passed a bill worth more than $600 billion dollars to special interests today, our elected officials now propose to borrow $700 billion more and give that away to their wealthy friends.
To vote for an incumbent in the upcoming election would be treasonous to our American way of life. It is a way of life which requires that we all take responsibility for our actions, pay for our mistakes, and take nothing that does not belong to us. Americans assume this code of conduct in the spirit of fairness that has always been important to the people of this nation. We should expect our leaders to reflect these values with the decisions they make in the name of the American people. When our leaders FAIL to reflect our values, we have a DUTY to vote them out of office.
For too many years, we have allowed the greed and excess to run wild on Wall Street and in Washington. We have trusted our elected representatives to be decent. This is an outrage. This is unworthy of Americans. This is treason beyond the wildest imaginings of Benedict Arnold and it cannot be tolerated by the American people. Our pride in this nation and the freedom we enjoy are at greater risk now than ever before. Americans have no choice but to stand against the people we trusted to act in our name.
There is only one way to combat greed. Everyone must refuse to entrust bankers with their money. Everyone must vote against the incumbents this November. Everyone must reject a Presidential candidate who supports this treacherous agenda.
Americans are unwilling to put the keys to the kingdom into the hands of those who have brought disaster on all but their own friends and relatives in banks, executive offices, and legislative seats.
Wall Street will not save us from the consequences of greed and excess. And we cannot afford to save Wall Street. They must fend for themselves, as we must fend for ourselves. I have no doubt that the American people are strong enough and proud enough and wise enough to raise our troubled nation out of any economic storm through our creativity and our will to win.
If we are to force the bankers and politicians to take us seriously, we have to begin taking back our economic and political power by withholding our money from banks, credit companies of all kinds, government taxation authorities, and from political candidates across the board. For those who fear repercussions, the simplest and perhaps the MOST effective solution is to simply close your bank account. The banks use our own deposits against us, buying influence in Washington, and we STILL owe THEM money. Close your bank account tomorrow morning and the banks won’t exist to ask for $700 billion.
Without willing slaves, they are masters of nothing.
A wise borrower once said, “If you borrow $100,000 the bank owns you, but if you borrow $100 million, you own the bank.” Americans have trillions in debt. A bank and tax revolt would END this disastrous Paulson Plot immediately.

It is amazing that the only thing that the ‘big wigs’ suggested would be that the market would be a little ’subdued’ to the purposed market bailout. I was not surprised that the DOW is currently down 300pts this morning. I would expect to see it go lower still. They ban short-sellers, they pump millions of dollars into the market every day and now a 700 b$ bailout… When are they gonna bail me out.

There is no solution to SAVE us from this crisis … if you rape and plunder and do nothing about it … eventually you will have to suffer the consequences. The question is … do you continue to rape and plunder or do you face what you have made, apologize, ask for forgiveness, and swear on you life you shall never act in such away ever again.

The wolf is guarding the chickens. The American people saw through the first round of ‘the sky is falling’ the re-shuffle begins this thursday. The economy is a simple equation. Without that oil there is no ecomomy, freedom or an America as we have come to understand it. America is on the downside pumping dry holes about the planet. Balout equals Hyperinflation, letting the markets seek their real levels equals the reality of DOW 5000.
I applaud Marcy for this statement, but it should have been made long ago. The big question right now is this: will a spoonful of sugar in the form of a different set of vote-getting add-ons make the bailout medicine go down?
Capitol Hill isn’t listening to the Main Street Americans they serve who don’t want this bailout plan to pass. Main Street Americans a smart enough to know that rewarding the criminal perpetrators of the credit debacle will beget more of the same activity at Main Street America’s expense. If you reward non-production and criminality, you get more non-production and criminality.
I want Capitol Hill to scrap the current bailout plan and replace it with the “Common Sense Fix” - and if they don’t know what that is, here’s the plan.
“Years of bad decisions and stupid mistakes have created an economic nightmare in this country, but $700 billion in new debt is not the answer. As a tax-paying American citizen, I will not support any congressperson who votes to implement such a policy. Instead, I submit the following three step Common Sense Plan.”
I. INSURANCE
a. Insure the subprime bonds/mortgages with an underlying FHA-type insurance. Government-insured and backed loans would have an instant market all over the world, creating immediate and needed liquidity.
b. In order for a company to accept the government-backed insurance, they must do two things:
1. Rewrite any mortgage that is more than three months delinquent to a 6% fixed-rate mortgage.
a. Roll all back payments with no late fees or legal costs into the balance. This brings homeowners current and allows them a chance to keep their homes.
b. Cancel all prepayment penalties to encourage refinancing or the sale of the property to pay off the bad loan. In the event of foreclosure or short sale, the borrower will not be held liable for any deficit balance. FHA does this now, and that encourages mortgage companies to go the extra mile while working with the borrower—again limiting foreclosures and ruined lives.
2. Cancel ALL golden parachutes of EXISTING and FUTURE CEOs and executive team members as long as the company holds these government-insured bonds/mortgages. This keeps underperforming executives from being paid when they don’t do their jobs.
c. This backstop will cost less than $50 billion—a small fraction of the current proposal.
II. MARK TO MARKET
a. Remove mark to market accounting rules for two years on only subprime Tier III bonds/mortgages. This keeps companies from being forced to artificially mark down bonds/mortgages below the value of the underlying mortgages and real estate.
b. This move creates patience in the market and has an immediate stabilizing effect on failing and ailing banks—and it costs the taxpayer nothing.
III. CAPITAL GAINS TAX
a. Remove the capital gains tax completely. Investors will flood the real estate and stock market in search of tax-free profits, creating tremendous—and immediate—liquidity in the markets. Again, this costs the taxpayer nothing.
b. This move will be seen as a lightning rod politically because many will say it is helping the rich. The truth is the rich will benefit, but it will be their money that stimulates the economy. This will enable all Americans to have more stable jobs and retirement investments that go up instead of down.
This is not a time for envy of the wealthy, and it’s not a time for politics. It’s time for all of us, as Americans, to stand up, speak out, and fix this mess.
I like how your common sense fix Sandra. It is practical and deals with much of the actual problem. But one thing I think is unavoidable is the FED needs to be abolished. It seems like it is right at the heart of every economic problem this country has had for 80 or 90 years. It caused the Great Depression and was the culprit for this downturn/credit crunch whatever it is going to be called in the history books. It prevents the economy from behaving predictably and it’s “fixes” are almost always bad for the country in the long term. It’s not very realistic but Congress needs to be convinced of this soon. Close it down.

Because it doesn’t solve the problem, it simply delays it for a very short time. So your wrong, our retirements are still at risk and that is why we should not bail them out since it won’t change anything and simply extract more wealth from us and increase the years of debt we will be forced to pay back without any benefit for having done so.

Marcy Kaptur you once agian are voicing your convictions as you have done so many times in the past. it’s too bad that your voice is heard now in a time of crisis rather than when the crisis could have ben averted. you have long sought for fiscal responsibility and keeping reins on enterprises which hurt the people you represent whether they are the poor, the elderly, businessman, working man or anyone representing our country in the military. your work in washington to represent us and bring our expectations of what government should do with our tax dollars does not go unnoticed. the financial sector of our economy is too important to allow a free for all during this moment in our history and dump the excesses of the speculators and downright thieves on the working men and women of our country. Please make sure that the ones responsible shoulder the burden.

Yet, it is so nice to have actual verification of our suspicions and knowledge about this reinforced from a highly reliable source. Hank Rearden, who is Ron Paul? Probably one of the greatest Americans to grace this planet. He belongs right up there with the very best statesment this nation has ever seen and he was blackballed by the press because of his platform which would have prevented this crisis we just went through.
He currently has legislation in that would solve this problem forever.
I’m from Marcy Kaptur’s district and I’m so very proud of her to take this stand. Our senators, legislators and president(s) have let this country down abysmally. We as Americans need to hold them all accountable. It’s distasteful to see our money being spent like it’s an endless pit. It’s even worse to have elected a man who we know little about, with little experience, who will not wear a flag pin because, in his words, it is a symbol of opression in some countries, who dislikes our national anthem and instead thinks we should have a song like, “Teach the World to Sing” and who hangs around with some pretty terrible people who advocate socialism. Where are we going? Where are the intelligent, innovative, problem solving people who should be leading this country? Where are the people who love this country and want to lead because of that love of country? I’m angry and, yet, blame myself, too because I just became apathetic. Not anymore!!!
Obama is not a socialist. If he were you could give him the benefit of the doubt assuming he wrongly thinks it would solve the worlds hunger and poverty problems.
No, he is an out and out elitest, his family were slave owners, he is 11th cousin to the Bush family which means he is royalty by birth, he works for the CFR and their banker masters…. he is a hard core FASCIST and that is what he was selected to do, was globalize the planet with the bankers and corporations being the governing agents and doing away with sovereignty.
Watch and see….. I predicted his win a year ago when I found out he had 6 CFR advisors and when I found that out I told everyone who thought HIllary was a shoe in that Obama was the designated winner and he would go all the way to President…. why??? NEVER HAS THE CFR PUT 6 ADVISORS ON A CANDIDATES STAFF most are two.
Then I knew… I also knew McCain had to be the designated loser since he was the worst possible candidate of any of the GOP running and Obama could only have a sure win against McCain… too much baggage.
