YouTube has shown a desire to satisfy the requests of Senator Joseph Lieberman (R-Israel) by implementing S-1959 the “Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007″ even before it has be debated, voted on or passed as law.
YouTube has begun to delete accounts owned by those who have criticized members of the government and advocated a return to the rule of law by following The United States Constitution.
Commonly referred to as the “Thought Crime Prevention Act” this bill is not designed to rein in foreign terrorist but rather restrict the speech and conduct of American Citizens. Under the broad definitions this act can be used against any individual or group promoting a political, religious or social belief not approved by the federal government. It is the stated belief of Lieberman and his colleagues in Washington, “homegrown terrorism and ideologically based violence exists in the United States and poses a threat to homeland security.”
Joseph Lieberman and his neo-conservative friends in Congress believe the next front for “The War on Terrror” is the United States. Citing the internet as a major tool for these domestic terrorist saying that it has provided a constant stream of terrorist-related propaganda. This would include those who often mention The Constitution or defending The Constitution, the intention of Lieberman’s S-1959 is to “eradicate these threats.”
Don’t think for a moment because you do not “look” like a terrorist or “talk” like a terrorist this bill does not directly target you. Section 899B Paragraph (7) states, “Individuals prone to violent radicalization, homegrown terrorism, and ideologically based violence span all races, ethnicities, and religious beliefs, and individuals should not be targeted based solely on race, ethnicity, or religion.”
This bill is sponsored by Susan Collins, U.S. Senate - Maine. The bill is in the first step in the legislative process.

How about we just stop using youtube and all google affiliates? We still have that right at least.
Dear Mr. Williams,
Lieberman and the Neo-Cons are right (no pun intended).
Taking hate mongering and disgraceful and genocidal Radical Islamic ranting off the internet is a must. The First Amendment did not intend to protect Radical Islamic preaching, which promotes violence against the U.S. or any other State in the world-wide effort to convert world to the Caliphate or Umma.
Respectfully
Jeff Heller
Senator Lieberman is on the side of the angels on this one. The First Amendment isn’t intended to protect our enemies in their efforts to destroy America. Would we have allowed spies to publish plans for our D-Day landings on the Web if it had existed in 1941? We can have free speech and still maintain national security. We don’t have to commit national suicide in the name of free speech.
Ed, perhaps you would like to know about “Operation Mocking Bird” what the Pentagon calls “information dominance.”
In 1977, after the Congressional Church Committee investigated CIA manipulation of the news media, and right after George Bush Sr. left his post as the Director of the CIA, famed Watergate reporter Carl Bernstein searched a little deeper into what was known as Operation Mockingbird. He revealed that over 400 US journalists were actually carrying out clandestine CIA PsyOps services. Bernstein identified operations involving almost every major US news outlet, most notably The New York Times, CBS and Time magazine. The CIA responded to all of this with a “limited hangout.” A “limited hangout” is CIA speak for when classified information gets out and you have to make it seem as if you are “coming clean” with all the information on the operation, but in reality you are really just admitting part of the operation so you can cover up other deeper parts and continue the program.
Currently, I would estimate, with cable news and the Internet now, that there are well over a thousand covert operatives spread throughout the news media. They have a firm grip on television, newspapers, wire services, radio and magazines. However, with the Internet - that’s their weak spot - it’s too decentralized and difficult to control. The Pentagon’s Information Operations Road map now describes the Internet as an enemy “weapons system.”
Guys, wake-up, this is mass manipulation and affects the entire world’s states, not only the US.
A 100% security action is to shutdown the Internet which is impossible (at least theoretically).
Theoretically (in the past) and, now practically, can be censured only.
If you take action today against youtube and google, tomorrow you will take action against the rest (including yourself, because, in the end, every human is a potential terrorist and everything we do is a potential threat).
I’m pretty found in IT and security issues and USA is vulnerable against IT threats more than any other country. From this point of view, these actions will not secure your “virtual” borders … at all.
Please excuse my English.
Marius.
