The Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota has issued a press release saying political rap-rock giants Rage Against the Machine will give a rare performance at Target Center in Minneapolis on Sept. 3, which not so coincidentally is the same week as the Republican National Convention in St. Paul. Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. for $60. This is one day after Ron Paul’s Rally For The Republic event.
Last Friday Jesse Benton, Communications Director for Ron Paul said on the Alex Jones show that a very well known musical quest would be making an appearance at the September 2nd rally. Could that quest be …..

RON PAUL and RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, a match made in REVOLUTION!!!!!!! I HOPE ITS TRUE!
I MADE THIS PREDICTION ON MONDAY WHEN I FOUND RP WAS GOING TO ANNOUNCE A MUSICAL GUEST!!!!!!
ITS MEANT TO BE!!!
Would be nice, but not likely. Ron Paul said he would have a peaceful rally. Anyone who knows anything about Rage knows they are likely to stir many emotions. Their concerts are usually very physical.
Cool!! I love Rage Against the Machine.
Aren’t Rage Against the Machine radical egalitarians?
First of all that’s a Disturbed video which would also be a cool band to show up. No, I expect that they will book a tame well known folk singer the likes of Arlo Gunthrie. I have a hard time seeing a hard rock being the surprise, though I must say, would be absolutely awesome for me because I’m going to be in the front row. Rage was always in the back of my mind as a pipe dream, their message melds comfortably with ours on several tracks. Their whole self titled album would be perfect. Plus they will likely have their concert on the 3rd because they had one at the last RNC in Los Angeles where police billy clubbed the kids who attended that concert held in the streets.
Thanks Will, I wondered who the band was. I expected someone would know so you win the prize. lol
Liked the video so I posted it. I know I should really put a Rage video up.
It would be cool to see Atmosphere or Brother Ali there.. they are from Minneapolis after all…
Uh…Rage are self-proclaimed Marxists.
Rage’s words are good but the instrumentation is a bit harsh and falls short of what I would call music. I hope Rage knows that many of the people at the rally will be older folks who could care less for their back-sliding rock-n-roll drugster music.
This is the first comment I’m leaving anywhere. I think this would be a terrible mistake for them to put this crap out there. Who can even understand what he’s saying? I can see right now all the old timers that we’re trying to win over turning around and leaving. I’m not even middle age and I’d be leaving.
Well it sure is interesting to hear so many people hate on Rage. I like Rage. They will not be playing so for those of you who do not appreciate their art, don’t get bent out of shape. It is very likely to be a folk artist that is sure to put the young crowd to sleep. I enjoy folk music when I am at home. It would be nice to have different bands so that more people could have something to enjoy.
Someone indicated that RATM are self-proclaimed Marxists. If that is true, I cannot imagine why RATM would want anything to do with RP’s R4TR. Moreover, if one is a true believer in RP’s message, I cannot understand why that person would listen to a band like RATM.
I would be monumentally disappointed if someone from RP’s camp arranged for RATM to perform during the R4TR. RP gets enough unfair criticism as it is. If people could associate his rally with a band that brazenly supports a convicted cop killer like Mumia Abu-Jamal, it would give the rally a black eye.
how about some Black Crowes, they are playing in Minnesota at the fair on the 1st or some North Mississippi Allstars and Hill Country Revue
If this movement is going to carry itself and expand, “YOU’VE GOT TO GET MAD!” I don’t see mild rock or folk expanding our numbers or reaching new populaces of people. The Music needs to reflect the tone of the ideas against the status quo!
Like Ron Paul said, this rEVOLution is for the young, it always has been. They are the ones who need to shape the country. You, me, everyone need to instill the freedom message into the young and let the movement float on our enthusiatic angst!
Old folk, sit back and tough through the music, if anything else, let your mind stew within our angst. It’s not like they’ll be playing for more than an hour.
Atmosphere? They are stupid Obama supporting liberals. I guess they like big government, high taxes, and a new UN tax. Atmosphere only had a couple of good songs way back. Their new album is shit. I do like “trying to find a balance”. That is a very good tune.
